The Coldstream Guards

These photos comprise a two year project spent embedded with the Coldstream Guards.

The photos taken paint a picture of a modern infantry regiment, bored by ceremonial duties and repetitive training exercises while the war in Afghanistan comes to a close.

It has ultimately become a body of work scattered across hard-drives, never really fulfilling its intended purpose - a book.

But nonetheless, it was an intriguing period to document the motivations behind those who serve in the army - and what really lies beneath the bearskin cap and scarlet tunic.

Welcome to the Coldstream Guards, Britain’s longest serving regiment.
